About Me

Aloha! My name is Jentzen Valenzuela, Born and raised on the beautiful Big Island of Hawaii in a small town in North Kohala.  Moved to Waikoloa (45mins from hometown), bought my own condo in 2012.  I am Hawaiian, Chinese, Filipino. I have 2 sisters and 1 brother, 5 nephews and 3 nieces who I love to spend time with whenever I go back home.

I have never moved away from the Islands, But embracing and living what this Island has to offer.  Straight out of high school I attended Hawaii Community College to major in Culinary Arts to become a chef. After 7 years of cooking it up, I decided I wanted to become a server to work my way up to Restaurant Manger.  I still love to cook at home and no longer become a manager.  I currently work at Hualalai Resort at the Four Seasons for 10 years in a Private restaurant for homeowners on property.

Before Beachbody, all I remember is being overweight ever since grade school, never played any sports in high school. I could never do a pull-up or a push up, unless I was on my knees. In my 20s, I was living the life of fried oily foods, late night out just having a good time and not taking care of my body. Working as a cook wasn’t helping either I would just eat and eat all day.

One day I looked at myself, Didn’t like what I saw. I also realized that my family had a history of diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease and high cholesterol. I decided to do something about it, I started walking around the park and working my way up to a jog. I was also a smoker, so I would get out of breath very quickly. I quit cold turkey and thats when I knew, I could do whatever I put my mind into. I was watching an informercial on Insanity and I thought, what it would be like to have a body like Shaun T. So my Journey with Insanity began.

My Journey with Insanity was really tough being at my heaviest weight 250 lbs. I just didn’t get the support I needed, I didn’t have a coach that checked up on me. My weight would fluctuate up and down so i didn’t get the results I wanted. It was 2010-11 when I decided that I would take another step out and look for classes that I could take that would motivate me to help me reach my goals. Thats when I came in contact with my new Coach Ross Pagat. One of your mutual friends had told me about Ross’s Fit clubs and that is when I got introduced to Beachbody, not knowing there was a lot, more behind than just a workout (Insanity) by Beachbody. I was also introduced to Shakeology and reasons to being a Beachbody Coach.

At First I was hesitant about being a Beachbody Coach because I thought to myself, I don’t look like a Beachbody Coach, I didn’t know much about Health and Fitness. I became a coach Early 2011, When I found out what a Beachbody Coach was all about, It defined me. I have transformed my life to be healthier and fitter and thats what I wanted to share with other people and thats what basically what Beachbody Coach does aside from getting extra income. It took me a while to honestly say with confidence to other people “I am a Beachbody Coach”.

In November 2011, my family and I suffered a tragic House fire torching most of our belongings,no one got hurt but till this day I still remember, I would wake up every morning on my daily jog, 15 mins out, I saw Fire trucks, ambulance raging through town, a family member saw me jogging and picked me up and to see everything I could think of what I had, gone. The clothes I had on was the only clothes I own, all those memories of my childhood only a memory. This made me realize that, there was only one thing I could do, Is move on, move forward. Its just things that I could replace. This is when I took my health and fitness more seriously, It was the only thing that made me happy and made me move forward in life. Over time, this heartache is slowly healing, but never forgotten. I would still be living in the birds nest if this didn't happen. Things happen for a reason, but its sad it had to happen this way, but also a good way cause I live on my own now and its doing well with a job I'm blessed with and also being a Beachbody Coach. Also with the help we did get from the community, I want to give back and put in time to help people get motivated, inspired in getting healthier and fitter.

My reasons I became a Beachbody coach, Looking back at what was a 250 lbs guy who liked to party, with low self-esteem, no motivation, had a negative out look on life and Now loosing 50 lbs who is self-motivated, inspired, positive, always looking for a challenge, helping others reach health and fitness goals and putting excuses behind me, who would want to go back to a life where your just standing still. No Goals, no future. That was the old me and I don’t know where my life would be without being part of Beachbody and our awesome team,Team Victory for all the support its given me. It gave me a greater aspect of how my life can be helping others with an open and positive mind. I don’t feel like this is a job, its like that saying,” If you love what you do, than you will never have to work a day of your life “. Being fit as I am today, I wouldn't think I would be doing the things I like doing now, going to the beach without my shirt on, or going on adventure hikes not worrying about how long or how far the hike is. I am so proud of myself for keeping a strong mind, making my dreams into a reality. Its doesn't stop here, everyday is a challenge of you vs. you.
